Abstract: Badminton
is a high-intensity racket sport that requires a combination of speed, agility,
muscular power, endurance, and neuromuscular coordination. At the school level,
structured training plays a crucial role in developing these physical
attributes, which directly influence competitive performance. However,
disparities in training exposure and physical preparedness are often observed
among young athletes.
The present
study aimed to assess selected physical fitness components among school-level
badminton players in Rajasthan. A total of 40 school athletes (both boys and
girls) aged 12–17 years were selected using purposive sampling. The selected
fitness components included speed (50-meter sprint), agility (Illinois Agility
Test), lower body power (Standing Broad Jump), and muscular endurance (Sit-up
test). Descriptive statistics and independent t-tests were applied to analyze
the collected data.
The findings
revealed variations in physical fitness levels across participants, indicating
the need for structured conditioning programs at the school level. The study
emphasizes the importance of systematic physical training for improving
performance readiness among school badminton players in Rajasthan.
