Abstract- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a lifelong neurodevelopmental condition marked by differences in social communication, restricted interests, and repetitive behaviors. The spectrum nature of autism reflects its wide variability, with individuals ranging from those requiring substantial daily support to those living independently. Global prevalence estimates suggest that approximately 1 in 100 people are autistic, with diagnosis more frequent in males, though awareness of underdiagnosis in females is increasing. Genetic factors are strongly implicated, while certain prenatal and environmental influences may contribute to risk. Autism often co-occurs with conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, and epilepsy, further shaping individual experiences. Early identification and evidence-based interventions—such as speech therapy, behavioral support, and social skills training—can enhance developmental outcomes. Beyond clinical care, societal inclusion in education, employment, and community life is critical. Increasingly, the neurodiversity perspective emphasizes autism as a natural variation in human cognition, advocating acceptance and accessibility rather than deficit-based views. A comprehensive understanding of autism requires integrating medical, psychological, and social frameworks to foster both individual well-being and collective inclusion.
