Abstract: Madhya Pradesh, home to the largest tribal population in India, has a rich agricultural heritage deeply intertwined with millet cultivation. This research paper examines the current state of tribal agriculture with specific focus on millets production in Madhya Pradesh, exploring traditional farming practices, socio-economic challenges, government interventions, and future opportunities. The study highlights how millets, once considered "coarse grains," are experiencing a renaissance as climate-resilient crops with significant nutritional value. Through analysis of tribal farming systems, production trends, and policy frameworks, this paper demonstrates that revitalizing millet cultivation among tribal communities can contribute to food security, nutritional security, climate adaptation, and sustainable rural livelihoods in the state.

Keywords: Tribal agriculture, millets, Madhya Pradesh, food security, sustainable agriculture, indigenous farming practices.
