Abstract: Wildlife
Protection Act, 1972 plays a significant role in maintaining environmental
balance and conserving biodiversity in India. The Act was enacted with the
objective of protecting wild animals, birds, plants, and their natural habitats
from exploitation and extinction. The present study titled “A Legal Critical
Analysis of Wildlife Protection Act towards the Environmental System in India”
aims to critically examine the legal effectiveness of the Act, its contribution
to environmental protection, and the challenges faced in its implementation.
The research focuses on the major provisions of the Act, important amendments,
judicial interpretations, and governmental policies related to wildlife
conservation.
The study highlights
that the Wildlife Protection Act has contributed substantially to the
establishment of national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, and protected areas,
thereby supporting ecological balance and sustainable environmental
development. However, issues such as illegal hunting, deforestation, habitat
destruction, human-wildlife conflict, and weak enforcement mechanisms continue
to hinder its effective implementation. The research further analyzes the need
for stronger legal frameworks and improved administrative measures to address
emerging environmental concerns. It concludes that effective implementation of
the Act, public awareness, community participation, and stricter enforcement of
environmental laws are essential for ensuring long-term wildlife conservation
and environmental sustainability in India. This how under this research I
clearly defined my work toward the wildlife deal with a environment.
